So I have been streaming and teaching sketching to a few friends of mine and to a few random people who ask. I like giving tips and being helpful! I love that other people can learn from me drawing and giving them tips I use myself (It is pretty amazing to me, I never thought I could be helpful and teach people about art)
But it is always asked of me to do painting tutorials and coloring and light tutorials. How do I do texture? How do I pick my colors?
I love to help people but there is this underlining feeling that they will not use it to build on their own style and they want to paint exacly like my work. (I have seen it happen quite a lot with other artists)
And while I do not think my way of painting is totally unique, I did make it myself. It has taken a few years to get it this far. So people producing the same exact kind of work as me… in the same way of painting… for some reason bothers me.
Is that selfish?
It probably is.
